Where to begin! The weather wasnt too bad, there was ahuge turn out, and it seemed everyone had a kickazz time!

You can check out all the pictures from the weekend here BKP Photography (http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/store.aspx)

When we arrived saturday, we saw another heavily modifeid TRX90 so we knew we FINALLY had a chance to race someone with a similiar set up and expeirnce.

Unfortunatley, our engine decided to let go:(

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:27 PM
I will get to the night racing in a bit, lets say Cody did his best on a tin can full of marbles:chinese: :p

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:30 PM
I do not know how many site members were there, but Dan said that it was "alot"!

My brother was worn out before he ever made it to the track but did some good riding this weekend.

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:31 PM
The "Couch" Race drew a crowd as the participants started gearing up and checking for loose change in thier race couches:eek2:

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:33 PM
A few riders were still kicking it as the riders were readied for the event

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:35 PM
A parade lap was in order and it gave the racers a chance to show off thier stuff and see how it handled:p

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:36 PM
Some went all out and others were running lean and mean like Randy Lehrs custom 3 cushion!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:38 PM
The races were ran 2 riders at a time with teh winner advancing to the next round.

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:40 PM
The competition got fierce as the drivers pinned the gas and the couches tried thier best to stay on for the ride!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:43 PM
Dans personal entry was withdrawn as there was an even number of teams. When they took it to teh burn pile, it attacked its rider!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:46 PM
One team suffered a WTFR....I am sure you can figure what that stands for when you see a riders is MIA:devil:

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:49 PM
The winning team took it's victory lap and for thier efforts recieved a free 3 month pass to the park!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:51 PM
Nick110 and his brother made the trip to BPG from New York...and this young man can rip it up!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:54 PM
Once the couch race was over, the staff started getting ready for the pitbike races as riders took back to the track on what turned out to be a beautiful saturday evening.

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:56 PM
Riders from all over began hammering the jumps and I was happy to get all the action!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 04:58 PM
The main track is where big air can be found, and that is where most of the faster riders focused thier riding

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:00 PM
There were a ton of nice quads there, each ride tends to bring out faster and faster riders!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:01 PM
Barry(Hondaracer31) was on his brand new LTR and wasted ZERO time in finding out what it could do!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:02 PM
Barry airing it out!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:04 PM
Lehr110 was in attendence, and was tearing the place a new one!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:05 PM
Randy usually just flat pounds it, but this weekend he seemed like he was having as much fun just goofing off as he was haulin' the mail!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:06 PM
The new double is not for those afraid of air....

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:08 PM
Other riders were hitting just about everything there was to hit!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:11 PM
With dusk appraoching, the pitbike races were underway. I honestly do not know whats wrong with Codys engine, more then enough to justify trashing it so we let him run it as it clanked and moaned its way thru the first moto.

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:14 PM
Young Mr. Burke is a great rider and his quad is top notch! We wish we had not had issues, it would have been a bar to bar race!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:16 PM
I was happy we could atleast give him someone to race with, and I have never seen cody so mad. He even offered to dip into his college fund to buy a new engine:D

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:18 PM
We were actually taking bets on which lap codys engine would grenade on:p

Watching a built 125cc run was awesome. We had met the Burkes earlier this year and they are great folks!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:19 PM
Cody brought her in without blowing it apart, and my brother went to work trying to patch things up for moto 2

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:20 PM
The anklebiters were lined up and ready to do thier thing. This actually turned out to be one great race to watch!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:22 PM
To my shock, my youngest son Ryan pulled out the holeshot and was GONE!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:24 PM
The little red quad wasnt going to settle for 2nd place and gave chase!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:25 PM
4 year old "Gauge" got tangled with a quad, but once loose he dropped the hammer and caught the leaders!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:27 PM
Abbey was in pursuit!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:28 PM
Ryan felt the red quad closing in, and was determined to do his best and stay out front!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:30 PM
Gauge is an impressive rider, even at 4 years old he can run with riders twice his age!

His dad jesse shouts encouragemnet as Gauge hammers down:macho

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:32 PM
Madison passes Abbey on the last lap.

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:34 PM
The little red quad took the lead, leaving a battle for 2nd, Ryan pulls the position as him and Gauge cross the checkers!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:35 PM
The second moto Codys quad did a little better, only locking out of 3rd gear twice:p

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:38 PM
With the failing engine doing all it could do, Cody kept as close as he could. He did not get ahead by much, and Cody wants a rematch:D I sure hope the Burke family comes back for some more racing, unfortunatley this was the last race for Cody on it. The stock engine will be reinstalled and it will be Ryans turn to earn his keep on a quad:eek:

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:40 PM
I am happy to report that it pulled itself on the trailer:D

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:42 PM
The 4 lap race pretty much looked like this the entire race. I know the Burkes would have prefered a win with a bar to bar battle as would we, maybe I can con them into borrowing an engine:D

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:44 PM
The pitbikes were ripping it up and these guys have a blast!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:45 PM
Sunday morning, the sun was shining and the temperature was HOT!

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:47 PM
More members and riders arrived and it looked to be another great day the proving ground.

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:48 PM
Outacontrol (I hope I got that user name correct:p ) was ripping it up on his beautiful Leagers CRF!

07-02-2006, 05:50 PM

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:50 PM

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:51 PM

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:52 PM

Pappy
07-02-2006, 05:53 PM
I think he was still faster then me:p

Pappy
07-02-2006, 06:03 PM
Its ok Jeff, we wont hold that against you:blah:

Pappy
07-02-2006, 06:05 PM
Randy yelled down for me to get my quad:o I did not want to spoil his day so I kept taking pictures:devil: :D

Pappy
07-02-2006, 06:07 PM

Pappy
07-02-2006, 06:09 PM

andrew i saw you so many times today i had no idea that you! ahaha thats funny, how'd those whoops treat ya? i didn't try them i loved the table table table line it was easy and smooth so i thought i'd stick with that, i have bad luck with whoops lol, i wasn't airing it out like i ussually do, i think it was cause the last time i went to the proving grounds i wrecked pretty bad, i wanted to hit the good size up hill jump but was comin up sort everytime, i would always end up hittin it after they would water the track (which i thought they did alittle to much today) so i would just spin the tires on the take off and get no speed, o well.... next time

tamehart
07-02-2006, 07:00 PM
the crew did the best they could to keep the dust down.

tamehart
07-02-2006, 07:01 PM
the result was some unclean quads before I even got there saturday morning

tamehart
07-02-2006, 07:03 PM
Breezewood offered a challenging yet safe course. I was able to conquer all the jumps by the end of the day, but some were intimidating

tamehart
07-02-2006, 07:04 PM
Randy Lehr has been riding/ racing his practice bike so far this season. His race quad is just about ready to hit the track.

tamehart
07-02-2006, 07:06 PM

thanks pappy, it was my own damn fault, i shouldnt of hit that jump my 1st time out, without riding in 2 or 3 weeks. I didnt feel comfortable at all.:( :o I jus needed some more seat time before i went out. But before i knew it, i was in the tree, with a messed up leg. That stopped my riding day in a heartbeat.

I post most of what I have, I havent been in the market to sell many but so many people want them that I will have to do something along the lines of what Shane has soon. It would just make it so much easier. Fir now, if you want a cd full of your pics just pm me your address and a brief description of the quad. I will include as many pics as i have of you for $25. These will be full resolution unedited etc, just like whats posted except without the atvriders.com watermark and they will be full size etc.

TOMAHAWK's quad track isn't worth your money! i was so disapointed when i went, it was so narrow in some spots the jumps were alright but they were two huge rollers and then two doubles, maybe anothe rone couldn't remember, then a straight away so tight i was having trouble keeping my stock front end yfz on the track, never got out of second.......

Come on Pappy...get the nice digital video camera. Once you get hooked on editing videos, you can take the next step and get them aired on tv...then maybe buy your own station. :D

Sorry I missed out on all the fun this weekend. So far, I have put in a new garage door, cut the grass, got the pool water adjusted properly, gone to the dump, loaded all 3 quads and the riding lawn mower into the trailer. I still have to install a new sliding door in the basement, put up new deck railings that I cut off with a chainsaw 6 years ago, replace the door frames around 3 garage doors, and finish putting in the floor trim in the basement.

Pappy,
Great pics, as usual! Thanks for the shirt and stickers, too! I decided to come home today since on my 2nd lap of the day, on the 60 foot downhill, I hit it a gear too high and nose dived. Completely missed the landing, landed on the flat and slammed the bars into my chest. Thank god I had a chest protecter on, as it is I bruised my ribs pretty good! Riders behind me said I was beyond 90 degrees!

Hey Barry, sorry I missed riding this weekend and definitely sorry to hear about your mishap. You weren't out for Father's Day but I started clearing the 65' uphill jump. Dan has been working on me to go for the downhill...but your mishap is exactly my concern. I just have an uneasy feeling about that jump. It is probably because I endo'd on a dirtbike at Budd's.

If you haven't heard (and yes I know I have posted this in a couple other threads)...I am moving to Raleigh/Durham. It is pretty sudden. I changed jobs in my company which requires me to work in either Rockville (a 1.5 hr drive) or move to Durham. At the same time someone showed up at our doorstep with a suitcase full of cash wanting to buy our house. So, we signed a contract immediately and will close by July 25th. We were planning to stay in the area at least another year but you know how that goes...stuff just happens.

So, how was the Suzuki? I am interested in hearing the opinion of someone coming off a tricked out 440ex.

hey barry, i saw u at breezewood, you look real fast out there man.

hondaracer31
07-03-2006, 08:09 PM
Jon,
I missed seeing you guy's!

The downhill's not really that bad, if you do it right. I usually roll down to about 15 feet before it in 3rd gear, then pin the throttle. That keeps the frontend from dropping and is about the right speed to clear it. The problem this time was I was in 4th, so the motor didn't have enough rev's, but I had WAY too much speed. I was going to go hit it again today but just riding thru the parking lot was painfull. Next time!!!
By the way, I didn't come off the quad. So I think it could have been worse.

The uphill is FUN isn't it?

It sounds like the move is supposed to happen, what with the buyer and all. You gotta do what ya gotta do. Glad you could sell your house so soon.

The LTR is great! It doesn't have the suspension my 440 has but it is amazingly good for stock. As for the motor, I think the horsepower numbers are about the same but the way it makes it is COMPLETLY different. The 440 is like a tractor, it has TONS of power right off idle and a strong mid range. It will rev high, but doesn't really keep pulling compared to the LTR.
The LTR has no torque (I stalled it about 5 times trying to idle across the parking lot:eek: ) But it accelerates VERY hard! And keeps pulling till it hits the rev limiter, which I only found when I was off the ground, and in trouble.
Sorry for the long post. I'll blame the pain killers for that.

07-03-2006, 08:17 PM
Damn I missed out. Maybe next time I wont ask my dad the day before the ride if we can go:o

Barry,

Are you running the CherryBomb and did you open up the stock exhaust or whatever that cheap mod is that gives you 7 hp? It would definitely be an adjustment for me too going to a high revving bike since I am used to torque too. The jump from the 400ex to the 450r with HRC kit was an easy transition. I still think the 400ex would be easier to ride in the woods.

So, what is the engine braking like when you let off the throttle? Is it more like a 2 stroke? I saw a company is coming out with a new type of clutch mechanism that slips in one direction. This will definitely help.

The uphill is sweet. I decided I was going to do it. I was surprised how fast you have to hit it though. Once I decided I was doing it, it still took me 4 tries. I just kept turning around and focusing on that jump until I made it.

Pappy and Kevin took care of my hand blistering problem with the Kevlar glove liners. Those things are amazing.

Jon,
I have the Cherry Bomb, which plugs into the harness, removed the airbox lid and spark arrestor. Now it's like a whole new bike, way more power. The engine braking is pretty good too. I have to use the brakes more, mainly because I'm going faster now.

Speaking of the brakes, they are very strong, dual piston caliper on the front. I've about gone over the bars several times because I'm not used to them yet.
