Yea it can be done easy if you ditch the lights and replace it with a Maier hood. Then mount your key where the reverse whole is. Heres mine.

Where did you get the new style plastics at?

Also the headlight fits as well. Just have to drill 2 holes to mount it up.

I ordered the plastic through my local dealer because fenders are expensive to have shipped. I never messed with the new style headlight. I dont use my lights much.

Did they mount right up or did you have to modify anything?

Max...is that all? That is from a dealer also? I expected the price to me much higher than that. Or did you get some sort of deal?

sorry I just remembered $285 was the price w/ out the hood. I bought the hood through c&d which was another $45. I did not recieve any type of special discount through my dealer. I did not do any special mods to make this work. I even used my old front fender brackets. I did have to drill one hole on each side of the front plastic to install the Maier hood. (It was part of Maiers installation tips.)

My bars are Magnum cr low bend. Bought them cheap from c&d.

Well I may have to go to my dealer in search of plastic instead of online. That is a good deal.

I may just convert it to an 05 style.

the headlight braket requires 2 holes drilled in the frame. no big deal.
the fender brackets that are on the bottom you need to bend them a little bit they are from the 00 plastic. the cdi bracket needs redone a little no big deal.
that is it. it all went together realy nice.
this conversion is no big deal to do.
if you want the headlight you need all the 05-06 brackets
the hood is excatly the same as a trx450r. in fact my hood is from my old 05 450r.
you have to swap the headlight harness from the old style head light to the new light just a few screws they it will plug right back in the 00 harness.

If you get Maier 06 plastic's they come with everything you need. Mine is a 99 and they went right one. Maier gives you 4 L shaped brackets and you use all your stock brackets also. It took me about 20 minutes from start to finish. i will take a few pic's of the under side of the plastic's so you can see the set up. I also went with a scooped hood, didnt want lights, saved money to.
