i just rebuilt one of my 400's with a 426 went with wiseco because it was free for me....

i went with a 10:1 to ensure the use of pump gas, i have a stage 1 in it now, no airbox, and a 450r carb with a slip-on hmf.....and I want a bit more top-end....im running 13/36 gearing and just cant seem to plow through 5th gear like i would like to, should i try leaning my main jet a size or 2?

also does anyone else run a piston of this compression with a stage 2 cam, how do you like that, i LOVE my bottom and mid-range itts phenominal....i wouldnt mind giving a small portion of it up, but i also dont want to buy a stage 2 and prefer the stage 1

I"D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!!

Try stepping down a size or two on the main jet.

A stage 2 cam would work nicely with your combo.

FYI--I'm running a stage 3 w/my 440 stroker, w/stock gearing and 20" tires, it'll hit the rev limiter in 5th. Even w/ the stage 3 it has a lot more low end than a stock w/much better over-rev.
