I'm sure a lot of people will agree (and some not) about Curtis Sparks being one of the top builders(www.sparksracing.com). I've been to a lot of websites looking for that stuff too. Other ones I've noticed and heard alot about are TC Racing(www.tcracingengines.com), Trinity, LRD, and there is even a place in Ohio, not too far away from me, www.profabatv.com that looks really promising to me as an engine/machine shop.

I talked to a guy from For Dirt Only last night. He has built quite a few strong running 250x's. ;)

CHeck the prices and turn around times. ProFab might be your best bet for the quickest turn around, just because he isn't as big as the other names, so less people are waitlisted. I know TC had been a 3 month wait earlier this year. Which sucks, because I know he has good stuff. But so does Sparks.

FST built a couple class winners last year too, they used to have a shaky rep, but they seem to be solid now. Don't know personally, haven't seen any of his work in person.

250x's are bad 'wheelers...I've seen a couple pretty built engines in them...hope everything works out good...let me know-i'm curious.

An 11:1 (no higher for pump gas) 330 bore kit would be awesome,or something in that area, the bore and compression should give you more nut all over, I'd have the head lightly ported(will really extract the most from a big-bore like that), a midrange cam and springs(anything else that's worn up there), good air filter and jetting with a header and muffler, if you don't already have one--I like my HMF a lot...really nice bark and lots of low-mid power.

That's my 2 cents

IMHO Tom Carlson builds the baddest 250x's around. Ask him about a pro outlaw motor.

But Contact Rage ATV tell him Kris Sent you or Bigdog6718@aol.com sent you .
He's a very reasonable guy and will help you out and answer any questions you might have .
He does good work
