Is your truck a 4x4? I have a 79 3/4 ton 4x4 and wouldnt trade it for anything. :D

If you have no lights or anything at all, something is not grounded, or check your ignition moduel (brain box) on the left inner fender. if you need any parts at all hit me up, i have a parts truck for sale or scrap.

are you getting power all the way through the selenoid? just because ur getting power to it doesnt mean its flowing on through... is your battery good? if all that checks out then check fuses...

the battery is good, and im gettin power to one side of the solenoid, but that might be becuase i have to power to the ignition

ull get power to the side closest to ur selenoid from ur battery, there should be a little prong above it where ur switch wire should have an elbow that will slide onto the prong, then on the other side ur starter wire should go on... test from one side to the other, from the ignition prong to the other, from the ignition prong to the other one, and then if your getting power all the way through your selenoid check your fuses...

Does the block have atleast 1 GOOD ground? the starter grounds to the block, but that doesn't explain the head lights

My friend has a 79 Ford 4x4 and we rebuilt a 351 modified and went to crank it over and nothing. It was a simple little ground wire on the driver side. Not sure what it is too. It came off of the wiring harness.

ever hear of k.i.s.s. ? keep it simple stupid. (its a acronym not to offend you) make sure the motor has ground strap to the frame, chassis, battery. poke around with test light, fords are great but have a lot of electronics check everything. post some pics, them were the good ol days
