Anyone here ride MTB or on the road? It's my new passion. I've been riding for about 6 years but i'm getting pretty serious about it now. I try to road bike 50 miles a day during the week and ride trails on the weekends. For my MTB I have a Trek STP300, with alot of stuff on it, probably about a new 450r's worth:p

And I just ordered this roadbike, I had been borrowing one from a friend for a few weeks, and decided to get my own. It's my 1st roadbike, so I didn;t want to go over $1000. This was about $975, a good starter. Here's the bike I ordered-

I haven't decided on pedals yet.

And here's my Trek.

I bought this mongoose about 3 years ago cause I thought it was sweet with the disc brakes. Now that I have been biking with it for 3 years I realize it was a waste of money. I dont need the full suspension cause I do mostly road riding and urban riding. But I take it on the ocassional trail.

It has Rock Shox on it now and different pedals.

Its not a bad bike but I could of got a bike that was more suited to me. It has Shimano components and what seems like quality other stuff cause I put it through some beating and it keeps working. Like 12 stair sets.

I just started getting back into it also. I just bought a jamis cross country 2.0 to ride around on the streets and trails. I've been messing around on a haro bmx mike for a while and decided I needed to get something easier to ride long distances so I can get in shape again for fall soccer. I've been riding about 4-6 miles a day but it won't stop raining here for me to get out.:( so far i'm pretty impressed with my new bike for not being on a mountain bike for about 5 or 6 years it was a bit different.

Does anybody else hate riding bikes with shocks? To me, it seems that you have to pedal twice as hard to get where you are going because the shocks counteract the downward motion when you pedal:scary:

i rebuilt my own bike, its a concord 10 speed, but i took the gears off, with only 1 now, set to the highest gear, and took everything i could possibly take off. Now it is lightweight, fast, and i repainted it, but the paint is crap. But i like the style i put on the paintjob.

I used to be into mountain biking. I have a trek y22 I think 99. I used vredstein grinder and sizzler tires. They are some really good tires. I still have the bike, it hasn't been ridden in about 4 years.

My backup 16" Giant is at a friend's shop getting a ture-up (all new cables, new pedals, wheels trued) because a couple friends have been begging me to sell it.

Bama450R - I love this lefty front shock because it has a lockout feature :D

Sometimes looks are deceiving:D. I tip the scales at 235lbs and I have pounded the crap out of this bike with no problems from the shock.

You have a 250ex, and you don't even race. You have no room at all to talk. Nick speaks the truth, which hurts.

here was what i did

woke up at 7am in the morning (this is summer keep in mind) to go play soccer
came home and had to get a whole load of firewood from a friend, bring it home, get it off the truck, cut it, chop it, move it, etc

then go out for a 5 mile bike ride (2.5 miles each way...)

then, today, i road my bike to school to lift weights
i just mapquested it, its actually 5.48 miles each way, so thats like 11 miles + the 5 miles so its actually 16

30 minute bike ride there all down hill
lift for an hour and a half
then bike ride back up hills for 50 minutes

to me thats a hell of a lot of riding and activity

but..what do i know? nothing compared to the hollister, popped collar, myspace wannabe, all stock 450r dominating in the B class Nick110

sorry, i just dont like u very much. anytime i post pics or something its always a negative with you

Like MX428 said I was just telling the truth which 99.9% of the time hurts.

"but..what do i know? nothing compared to the hollister, popped collar, myspace wannabe, all stock 450r dominating in the B class Nick110"

That right there is funny stuff. Hollister, popped collars, and Myspace is all a joke. You probably brought that up because you feel insecure about yourself cause thats how you dress. and Dominating B class...I never said that. I said I race in B on stock suspension.

So basically all the ramballing you just did made you look like an idiot.

I thought this thread was about MTB's and/or roadbikes!! Geez:rolleyes:

I think I'll sell my Giant after the tuneup and get a set of Mavic X223wheels with roadtires and maybe upgrade the components to full XT or XTR. Hmmmmm:chinese:
