well I want to have more power out of my car. I have a 88' thunderbird with the 5.0 302(don't laugh). I just put straight pipes on it yesterday. I was thinkin about cam, intake, chip, anthing else you can add.
I drive it daily so keep that in mind with the cam. any cheap horsepower ideas tell me. thanks

i cant remember, is the 88 a late model carb, or early fuel injection?

A cam and fresh timing chain will help alot. Also make sure all your emissions equipment isn't messed up. You might want to wait to get a chip until you finish all the mods and have one tuned custom by jet or hypertech.
Other things would be high output ignition and electric fan if it doesn't already have one. Good luck, those 302's are powerful engines. If you ever get real serious, you can put a carbureted manifold on it and then it would really rip!

:)

I have owned an 86 notchback with a 351, 91 hatch with a 306+spray, and an 03 cobra with lots of spray. The 302's are the better engine to work on, but swap in an 03 cobra motor and have LOTS of fun  Thunderbirds are cool cars, a little big for my liking, but none the less, still cool. Your BEST bet for CHEAP mods+sleeper is putting a nitrous kit on it.

yea they are a little big but it is different than everyone. I would put spray on it but don't want to blow it up.

What makes you think you are going to blow it up??? If you want to do a cam, intake, and all that other CRAP, why not just put a little 30 shot on it?? It's the same power, and while you won't have it all the time, it will save you a LOT of money.

nitrous doesn't equal a blown motor.
