Can you paint the rear axle of a stock 400? If so do you use primer? Also is it worth it because it may chip off easily? My rear axle has lots of rust and I can't afford a new one.
-Thanks

Take a wire wheel to it.

I Steel wooled my LSR axle on my 400 and it held up ok some of the rust came back but wasnt noticable. I'd wire wheel it before i painted it.

powdercoat it?
wire wheel the rust off of it and then use dry wall sandpaper to keep the rust off. that is what i do to my wifes 2000 400ex. the axle looks like new

I know thats why I am painting things. Also 2 days before that picture I went through deep mud and just used a hose to wash it off.
