Still debating on what pipe to start with. Once I get the new rear hipers/tires on and a graphics it will look alot better.

forget the graphics, it dosent need them, it looks nice as it is. Didnt you buy Brit Mansells 520 450r?

i agree, it looks nice without graphics, but blue rings on the hipers would be amazing:eek2: :eek2:

Awesome Quad, where did you get that frame at?
:)

I think the black rings will do and some kind of simple blue/white/black ghrapics.

I built a YZF250 quad similar to this last year using a 400ex geometry LSR frame. I sold it to a local guy here so we'll see how it compares to this one.

Is whats nice about this is whoever buys it can put a CRF450 motor back in it after they outgrow the 250. I made different motor mounts for the 250 so a 450 will go right back in.

quadrcr161- Yeah i've still got brits 520r. It looks different now though.

Everytime you post pictures of the quads you've built, my jaw hits the floor . That quad is SICK !!!!

Pappy take note .... Cody needs something like this quad .

Either sell it to me CHEAP, or don't sell it locally lol. These things are tough to race against. Looks good Cody.

Is that a primary reason for a 250 hybrid--as a stepping-stone?

I think the quad looks great. Obviously you know what the hell you're doing. But I'm just wondering for which riders and in which terrain a 250 is "better" than 450. I'm not saying there aren't damn good reasons to have a 250--I just don't know and am curious.

Is it pretty much analogous to 250s vs. 450s with motorcylces? [I'd strongly consider a 250 before a 450 depending on where and how I was going to use the bike]

Thanks

im interested to see how it will stack up to a 400ex or a z400. I bet you it could take it.

i ride a 2005 crf250 and heres my honest opinion on the power of the motor... it'll be a lil bit faster then a stock 400ex in that frame...

i've drag raced stock 400exs and 450rs and i'm dead even with a 450r till the very top end and then they slowly pull away... and beat a 400ex by a decent amount... but then u gotta remember that quad weighs a good bit more then the bike does...

i think it'd make an awesome motor for someone in the 14 - 17 range thou! the crf250 motor is very peppy and alot more responsive then a 400ex motor!

440racer66
06-28-2006, 06:58 PM
yea pappy ditch the ex get him one of these and when hegets older and wants to move up sell the motor and slap a crf 450 in ithaha

The main reason I built it was because I have not seen a CRF250 done yet. I built a YZF250 last year and now there are 3 of them here local. I just wanted to try a CRF and see how it ran with the YZF's. I have a full LSR CRF450 just like this one and instead of having 2, why not have a 450 and a 250.

I have a buddy that is wanting to run it in a few local races and it'll run in the 300ex class, so I think it will do fine there ;)

My cousin and I have discussed this a few times and have wondered about it a lot on my own.
With the new CRF250 out with the dual exhaust we were wondering if it was still going to be possible to utilize the dual exhaust idea???

We thought of the idea like your buddy was thinking. Were he rides at there is a 300 class and the crf250 in our minds should pull a 300ex easy???

I guess we will find out, because I will be the one who gets to race against it. lol...Usually with a good rider those will blow a 300 away.

Finishing up a few more things and workin on an exhaust and its ready to go.

Yes it is FOR SALE. Make me some offers, I have no idea what the demand for this thing is.

planet400- your tires must be on backwards.

07-06-2006, 06:22 PM
i am curious to know what is the weight of the frame alone, and then the wieght of the overall quad, and weight of just the roller chassis...any estimates?

i have always wanted to do a 250f hybrid. power wise it is about the smae as a 400ex. i want one to race sport class in in all the local races here. i just think it would be cool and different. so you said you have built one before? how does it compare to a nicely built 300ex or a fairly stock 400?
