....to read lol.

Did anybody else really find the atv sport shootout between the ltr and a worked over 250r interesting. I've been wanting something like that to come along just to see how they stack up and i think they did a good job comparing them. Funny how the only significant down sides in their opinion to owning a FULL BLOWN 250r over a new ltr was build price and parts availability. The article mentioned that Tiexiara estimated it would be well over 15,000 to build his 250r, but he is selling it for no more than 7,000. Then atv sport said that for the build price of that nice of a 250r, you could buy two ltr's. BUT, why not just buy an already built 250r that's been taken care of for the same price, or a little less than a new ltr? Then you have the best of both worlds. At least not all the magazines are forgetting about the trusty old two strokes:p

BTW, if you didn't read it, there wasn't a declared winner, but for the sake of it we'll just say the 250r managed the ltr just fine:D

this is great to hear. everyone is always using the latest and greatest stuff. and for everyone thats still enjoys their 250r they dont get enough credit for still being a good mx quad. its good to see that a magazine still shows that its competitive and can hold its own against a quad using todays technology. maybe this will also help people figure out that they dont have to go and sell their totally aftermarket R for a new ltr or yfz just to stay competitive. no doubt the new 4 strokes are a ton of fun though. unfortunatly ive never ridden a 250r but i admire them greatly.

Finaly the magazines brought back the 250r. I don't even remember the last time I've seen a full article in a magazine about a 250r, or a shootout or something with a 250r. I'm deffinatly picking up a copy of that magazine next time I go to walmart.

That KTM quad is a beast indeed!

250r-dee, how much does it cost to ship something like that to japan. I'd be willing to help you out.

I use the military postal system so my mail gets treated like domestic mail. Shipping a mag to me should only be a couple dollars.

With $15,000 I could build an R that would smoke the piss off of ANY 450; on a track, on a strip, in the sand, anywhere.

They had an old school review of the 250R a while back in Dirt Wheels! I still have it!

It's the actual review they published 20 years ago. They also did the LT-250R, and even more recently that that there was a shootout between the two.

Does anybody have this article in full for me to read? The last issue was the end of my subscription!
