welllllll actually a 250r is quite a bit faster and much more powerful than a 250ex. my suggestion is if you dont know the difference between a 250ex and a 250r you should stick to the 250ex to get more familiar with quads and all the different models available. it will also be safer to start on a smaller quad than have one with too much power for your skill level.

250x's are better, they have a X in the name.

if i was you i would get the 250ex.... it has alot of top end power, great suspension, has teh best stock tires in the world.... and if ur lucky you can find one with a pink powerband. a 250r killer:eek2: :scary: :ermm:

yup... lmao, but seriously, you cant even put the 250r with the 250ex. 250r will KILLL the 250ex's. They can keep up with the 450's.

250EX = beginners bike that can be ridden very hard

now you can put the 250R and 450R i the same sentence, thats ok.

250ex= quad for a 12 year old
250r- race quad

ok lets get this straight. if u are looking for a good race quad that has the perfect power and amzing handleing u should get the 250ex. it comes with a whopping 12 horsepower stock. that can take u up to speeds exceeding mach 1.the 250r is good for begginer riders who do yard work. i used my for logging and carrying my chainsaw on the back. i put a nice 6 pack rack back there and it held up nice. the 250r sucks for racing so i suggest the 250ex for extreme perfomance. hope i was a help.
