I put a new rod in. Put it back together and I have a tight spot when the piston is down but it will spin over it. I am spinning it over with wrench. What the heck is it.

Can you hear any metal on metal sounds when you are spinning it or does it just get tight? Also, is it all together or is the jug still off?

I thought it was normal for there to be a "dead spot" when sweeping through BDC and TDC because of the angle between the rod and the crank journal (0 degrees basically, at those points in the stroke).

I'm waiting for others to chime in though...

It is where the exhaust loobs are topping out. How hard is the bdc spot to turn though
