Next summer i am planning to sell my 300ex and get a Raptor 660r. i was wondering if you think i should get the raptor or get something else. Also i heard raptors flip back easily is this true?

I dont know about tipping back easily, but they certainly have scarey power... it would be a pretty huge step up from a 300ex.

From a 300ex, I would say a raptor would be a big improvement. As far as tipping back, I feel people are mistaking its huge amount of torque. The raptor does wheelie very easily, but a good rider could keep it on all fours. The raptor might be a little tipper (side to side) than the 300ex, but that should be the only down fall. I would def. recommend a 660 for you if you like fast trails, and moderate jumping/racing.

yea i would definatly recommend the 660 and yes the front end is very easy to get up but its really managable and no it doesnt flip backwards or at least when i go to far while trying to wheelie its never flipped just stood up straight

Buddy of mine rides a 660 raptor. It has tons of power but it is tipsy. He gets quicker lap times on my 400ex. It just can't handle the turns as well.

Pretty nice quads all around. I'd look into the z400's or KFX400's also.

other than the slight tippyness the raptor is AWESOME. all you need is some a-arms and an axle and its good to go

i love my raptor, it is a torque monster like others said and has no trouble pullin the wheels off the ground. i am also a big fan of the yfz450 too. those things are the **** and sometimes i wish i picked up one of those

To fix the main tippyness problem, all you really need is rear-wheel spacers, or an axle.

I went from a Honda 250X to a Raptor.. I don't regret it one bit! I love the Raptor. It does require a bit more body english in stock form, but get some spacers for it in the rear and it's not really that big of a deal. Widen it all the way around and put some good shocks on it and it RIPS!

Sorry I think 660 rapters suck. And yes I have ridden them. The power is good, lots of muscle down low. But The handling is behind all the other bikes in its class. My number one riding buddy has a 05 that has aftermarket shocks and is wider and it still couldn't keep up with my predator. To high and tippy, hard to turn. you will be much better off with a yfz, trx 450, susuki 450, or even a predator.

I love my raptor to death, but in all honesty, I regret not getting a 400ex or waiting and saving that little more for the YFZ or TRX 450. If you're going to get a raptor aim for a newer used 660, or the new 700. I rode a 700 limited edition with just a pipe kit and tuned properly, and blew my raptor out the window. From almost a stand still in 3rd gear I romped on the throttle and the 700's front end sailed upward. All the power you could ask for plus the perfect handling.

When i was 14 i went from a 84 200s trike to a 01 raptor, i got used to it so you should be fine. The older ones have problems with there tannys and starters but there fun quads for sure, mine was a 01 and i never had any problems what so ever, just the usual mantnece stuff.
