View Full Version : Whats the strongest bumper?

Hey guys I just messed up my bumper after I hit a tree going about 30 through some tight trails and now I need a new bumper. Just was wondering what you thought was the strongest bumper for my ex so it can take the abuse if this was ever to happen again. By the way I had a DG bumper just in case you wanted to know.

if you get a stronger bumper and you hit a tree again going fast the bumpers not gonna bend but your frame will.

bumpers are there to take the impact of the hit... you want a somewhat strong bumper but not something so rigid that when u hit something it bends the frame

thanks guys i knew that they took the abuse but but i wish i wouldn't have to buy a new bumper every time I hit a tree.(that was my first time and it just wasn't my day). anyone else got a bumper that you think I should get?

DG fat series v-pro. Took up alot of the shock when i hit a tree in 3rd, replaced the bumper but the frame was fine!

If I were you I'd go with the IMS' any of them are really strong products. But the Pro Armor xc bumper is probably the strongest in my opinion.

I would suggest a PRM bumper. I run one on my 400ex and hit a tree in third gear head on. It broke one of the bolts but the bumper is still perfectly straight as well as the frame. I think the aluminum absorbs alot of the impact.

Who sells the IMS bumpers?

I got mine from www.gopartsdirect.com I thought that they were pretty cheap on everything they had in case you were wanting some more parts.

Thanks for the link. I am in the process of building my 400ex up so I am always looking for parts. Now that I have my clutch lined out its time for some real mods.

PRM's are nice, my nuddy has a nice RPM bumper as well. I like my IMS classic.

prm summit bumper or pro armor race bumper (cattle guard) both are strong but the prm bumper is the strongest out of the 2!

AC Racing's don't hold up too well when it comes to trees.. Or telephone poles in my case.. I was running around 10mph. and smashed a telephone pole.. 10mph. and it trashed my old AC.

nice big gusset on the back.

I know im showing it on my 450r but that same bumper will mount on a 400ex.
