Actually me and my good friend michael did. We bought a 83 Toyota 1/2 ton pickup on 39.5 TSL boggers. We had just picked up some differintal fluid for his blazer and as we were driving down the road we noitce this huge *** toyota truck sitting beside some guys garage, we look at each other and said that was a big f^cking truck. (This on saturday FYI) Michael said we should go ask how much he wants for it just for ****s and giggles. We turn around, pull in the driveway, and ask him about it. Said he only wanted a thousand bucks, I immeditly ask whats wrong with it and he said nothing, just as long as you only use it for muddin. Make a long story short we scronge up all the money we can and have it in our hands by thursday. Let me remind you, this is a strickly mudding truck, no need for it to be nice, as long as its in mechanical good shape. Anyways heres the pics...

let me mention, this is a clay pit so some of the holes only have 6" to a foot of water but the rest a mushy sticky mixture of mud and clay. This hole was nothing but mud/clay!

nice rig but be careful runnin that size tire on toy axles juse because you dont flex doesnt mean you wont break an axle ive seen people blow birfs when just backing up in the snow and runnin 35s. what gears you running? are you locked up? what kind of springs? looks like a good build up rig.

We can't, the lugs on the tires are so big that if you turn to tight they hit the leaf springs.

you have a quad that you can only ride in dirt with, cant ride it on the street or any paved roads legally. why have one then? its basiclly a big freaking utility quad if you think about it. not ment for the roads.

oh what the power of a garden hose and a few hours of waxing will do.

It's hard to see, but there are a million scratches all of my truck and the left rear bed side has a huge dent from a rock. Left front fender is the same way.

the picture of my brother's engine is so clean because that's when he first put it in. Doesn't look anything like that now, but who cares when you have that much power.

btw, what's that supposed to mean anyway? Just because I have a nice clean looking truck in my pictures means I don't take it off road. That's kinda like saying a clean quad doesn't see any tracks or trails.

ridesa02400EX- you have rocks close to you (rubicon), we have mud. my truck is able to do both.

on the red ranger you have street tires. and the engine is so clean you could eat off it. either you don't hit any mud or you spend 8 hours cleaning every inch of you truck after you slash thru some puddles, cause everyone knows you aren't hitting any deep, gooey mud with those tires.

first off, you must not know ANY ***CING THING about engines.

Does that look like an 88 2.9 v6 to you? Nah looks more like my brother's 396 when he put it in.

Also, they are all terrain tires and yes I do hit deep mud with them. Plus if you want to give me the $900 for new BFG MT's, go for it. So if you don't like it keep you fat *** mouth shut.

ok then. didn't even think about what engine it was. so either way, your brothers ranger doesn't hit any mud with the way the engine looks. i bet that little 2.9 in yours really turns the tires over.

wow, i can hear those stock 8" axles begging for mercy... lockers+39.5's+stock 8" axle= carnage... just to for warn you birfields arent cheap and you better plan on buying some before long, my advice to you look up Bobby Long and Longfield chromoly birfs... they are around $600 a set but give your axle a little more strength then your every day Dana 44... overall it doesnt look like a bad rig, but def. some little things that need changed, like since its a mud only truck why not run a stack to go along with ur snorkel... that way if something does happen and it stalls out in the mudhole it wont suck water up... you should also look into getting rid of the stock push-pull steering with a setup like All Pro OffRoad's high steer kit, youll thank me for that advice... any toyota info you need feel free to hit me up on AIM at TaylorRacinEX007, ive done 5" of lift, tires, locker in the rear, limited slip in the front, V8, automatic, etc. to my DD 87 and can help you out on most anything toyota...

you know, ford made this thing called low range. It's a gear reduction that almost tripples the torque. Ever hear of it? Then some companies make these wonderful things called gears that go in the front and rear axles to compensate for the larger tires. You must stay on quads a lot. Once you learn about trucks, then come back and try to argue.

Plus, that's why a 302 will be going in. You pretty much just destroyed this guys thread. cody 300ex, I appologize for people like this.

longfield chromos will actually give you as much strength as a dana 60 but if you run those you will need to upgrade your gears and have them cryogenically treated I also agree on getting rid of the push pull steering go with either all poo or marlin IMO i like marlins stuff better you can run 6 stud knuckles with marlins steering set up as to the stock 4 stud knuckles. In this test notice that the birf itself was actually ok it was the short side inner that broke you can also pick up used birfs fairly cheap
