Stock 300ex Top Speed????

How fast does a stock 300ex run? Does 65 M.P.H. sound right? The 300ex had a Uni air filter and that's it. Thanks

Dude your nuts, A 300ex at the most goes 55 and thats if your lucky.

Well considering that I have been clocked by 3 different people, the first time I was next to my friend in his honda civic and he said he was at 64, the second time was next to my friend on his KX 650 and he said 65, the third time was next to my friend in his dodge dakota and he said 63 or 64. I didn't think it was right and that is why I asked the question. I didn't say anything about post your smart-***** remarks did I? I was just asking a simple question that needed a simple answer.

ok sorry for telling you that your quad didnt do 65 when you did ask for an anwser. i dont think a 300ex would do 65 if a 400ex olny does 70.

at the most you will do 55 the only way to go faster is change the gearing

sorry 250x rider i know for a fact he's right i have a bone stock 2002 300 ex and the next day i ran beside my friends truck and he said he was going 64. and it was on flat ground. then i wasn't satisfied with his reading so i talked to one of my local county sheriff's who i've known forever and had him hit me with his radar gun in the same spot. the gun said 62. so just a radar gun over what you say 250x. maybe 55 is top speed for a 250x but not a 300. sorry. and by the way i own 2 250x's so i know all to well how fast they go and it's much slower then a 300 unless it's built to the hilt

most of the time a 250x is equal or greater in speed then a 300ex due to the lighter weight and higher comp piston

You must have some junk X's if they are much slower then 300's...my stock X was faster then a few of my friends 300exs, i even raced 2 piped 300's an beat em both.

Well i have a piped an dair filter 1998 300ex and my top speed on my trailtech was 53...

i dont think honda geared the 2002 300ex's dif. then all the others im still not sure about hitting 60's that would mean 5 more mph you would be up to a 400 dont think so .......not to flame but some cops radar guns are **** because half the time they are telling you the wrong speed the cops usaly adust them so they are reading faster than what cars are usaly doing

I always was under the impression that the 300ex tops out faster then the 400ex, but i know it doesnt sound right but ive always heard that. i had mine up to 60 when i was up with my freinds grizzly. so i think dats the fastest they would go but with my 14T sproket i can top out alot faster

i got a 315 ex and i'm pumpin out 63-65 , geared differently but i can't think of it off the top of my head (does 14,38 sound right maybe wrong, with 22" tires) i know i aint goin much faster than a stocker on top end but i'm getting to 65 a he!! of a lot faster than a stocker i can tell ya that much

My 2002 300ex stock on flat hard surface road with no wind will do 55 and with a strong tail wind will do 60. Both speeds on gps.

down a quarter mile road i hit 56mph on the gps on my '03

with 20" rear holeshots, a 14t front sprocket, and a white brothers e-series slipon with 12 disks, i only hit 53 mph stock on my old 300ex. they are just plain old SLOW

if i had the time and money i would drive to your place, unload my quad and prove to you it will go 70. it wasnt two weeks ago, me and a buddy checked the speed, and it was me looking at the speedo. ohh and another thing punk, i dont like to be called a liar. i havent told a lie since my mom busted my @ss when i was 7, so you can kiss my white @$$. that is all!

I have a 98, and a 96 300ex, and both are the same. Uni Filters, holes in airbox lid, DG pipe and exhaust with 12 disks. I have trailtech computers on both and top speed on a dry lakebed is 56.7 MPH for both.

How'd you get yours to do 65 :confused:

My 300 has stock gearing and 22" XCTs and it doesn't do 65, and it definitely won't match a 400s top speed. All my friends have 400s, (about 6 of them) and I can't match ANY of them on the road. That's with a K&N, no airbox lid, pipe, and laying on the tank.

freinds 300ex goes abot 62-63
My rancher goes about 52

aint no two 400s the same...even if they are both stock...

hmm a stock raptor goes 75? and I can stay with a piped one in top speed...but my 400 aint stock

when i get my trail tech Ill take a pic of my highest speed and post it....

ive rode several 400s that will run pretty close to 70 out of the box...

I only weigh between 125-135 lbs. I also have 22" Cheng Shin tires on the back that came on it when I bought it, forgot to mention that earlier. Not for sure what stock size come on the 300ex but this might make a difference.

I can keep up with a 93 kx125 through 5th gear and when he hits 6th hes gone, i woul say my 300 will do 58 or 59, i have a exaust.

a cop pulled me over once for goin 75 on a 300ex with a K&N air filter....i told him he was full of poo and he musta been usin the radar wrong or something...then he left....stupid *** cops

It's hard to say what the exact top speed of any bike will be since there are so many variables...

How much weight, including rider, tires, gas, donuts you ate.
What temperature the air is.
The elevation.
Type and quality of gas.
Adjustment on carb.
How clean the air filter is, what type.
Type and size of tires.
How truthful you are.
Type of measuring device.
Road conditions.
Wind Speed and direction.
Thickness of oil.
How many bowls of wheaties you ate.
How big your head is.
If you have brass balls or plastic ones.
How much your clothes weigh.
If you are riding with your girlfriend with a big rack.
If there are half naked girls on the roadside with big racks...
