well my 400ex spark plug keeps blowing out idk why and i know it was a bioch to get started...im pretty sure the threads are stripped but i wonder what i cant do to fix it should u buy a new/used head from somewhere and put it on, or retap the one i got...idk tell me what would be the best option here

A Heli-Coil or Time-Sert should work. You retap the hole, install the insert (which takes you back to the original hole size/thread pitch) and that's it. Any thread repair kit should have instructions.

I wouldn't try it without taking the head off. You can get creative with ways of keeping shavings and whatnot out of the cylinder--but I'd only go that route if it was impossible to remove the head for some reason.

i always put a bunch of grease on the tap that way all the metal shaving are collected in the grease. you need to tap a little ways, remove, clean off the grease and tap further. i have never had any problems with this
