450r 1/4 mile

I have read guys on here runnig there quads in the 1/8th mile. has anyone run the full 1/4 mile? I dont want 1/8 responses either 1/4 mile only! thanks guys

I wouldn't mind knowing 1/8 mile times, more interesting would be the 1/4 times.

That's going pretty fast on assfualt, I'd see someone topping out on the rev limiter before the end.

I know a guy he ran a13.80@89mph last weekend his quad has a 520 kit and a web cam w/ all kinds of other stuff not really sure what.

they wont let us run our quads full 1/4 passes because the tires say off road use only or something. mine went 8.7 @ 76 in the 1/8th. thats right before the limiter too, with 14-39 gearing.

I live 1/2 mile down the road from the drag strip, this friday or next I will run my 06 and report my time.MY 03 CRF 450 ran 13 flat at 96 m/h in the 1/4 so I am hoping for low 14s or mybe high 13s we will see. they let ANYTHING run down the track on friday nights.

I don't know if irwindale allows quads on the 1/8 track they have. The 1/4 I was thinking about what pomona.

...I live about 5min from LACR. I will see if I can find out for you. I'd love to see what my quad will do in the qtr, especially before I install HRC kit. My buddy & I do our drag racing @ El Mirage dry lake bed. Uphill drags are way fun too.

LACR is about 3500ft above sea-level, making performance not as strong as sea-level. At LACR, my best ET was 11.19 @ 119.00+MPH, with altitude correction, equates to appx 10.90's @ 125.00. Car is all-steel (HEAVY) with 6 pt rollbar. This is w/NO nitrous, Pontiac Iron block/heads(ported)/crank. Has Good rods (Eagle H-beam) & Ross pistons. I am running a 1050 Dominator & Edelbrock Victor-pontiac, but w/o a riser plate to keep stock hood. With 1"-2" of carb riser, Im sure Id get a little more bottom end. Trans is a full built TH400 w/trans brake, and a 8" Continental converter. Rear is 4:10 12-bolt w/spool & c-clip eliminators.
....and STILL street registered! :huh

Right on. My 1st car was a 65 Nova SS (V-8) 283/auto. Paid 300.00 for iy in 79! Who knew back then? It was just a 'old car' I built/hot rodded. Here is me @ 16 in '79 @ my high school car show.

The 66-67 Novas were always one of my favorites. Now they are getting hard to find, and they aint cheap!

I will bet ANYTHING you want your STOCK 400ex DID NOT and cannot and never will go 13 anything. this was for 450r anyway it might have gone 13,s in the 1/8 not a chance it did that in the 1/4

I don't like to bash but I would HAVE to AGREE!!!!
I ran a 13.1 at 96 miles hour on my CRF450 and I know my TRX is not going to be that fast.so To say a STOCK ex did that is not Good.( sorrry man I just can't do it).(believe you that is)!!!!

kk, i dunno that wat they tell me i did on the 1-4mile maybe tho chronometer was wrong. maybe i dont do 13.05, that was the fastest ive done,but the other we like 13.57, and 13.43,i dunno maybe the screw up on the time,

you should be able to get the 60 ft down to 1.7 or less with no wheelie bar.also you could make a gear change to 36 rear and still pull ok. jmo:devil:

I tried to launch in 2nd and got a little bog, 1st just seems too low. I f I do it again I'll be lowering it, and gearing up as you said with a 36 rear.

wat do u mean by "cut green wire" i have no idea what that is. Could you please explain!

it means that his factory rev limiter is now 1000rpm's higher by cutting that green wire (equivilent to the HRC kit wiring harness which eliminates that wire)

WELL I HAVE TO SAY THAT i LIVE IN MISSISSIPPI AND IT HOT AND MUGGY DOWN HERE AND i RUN A 14.0 AT 92 AND ALL I HAVE IS A 15 TOOTH FRONT ,36 REAR , HONDA HP KIT , BILL BALANCE FULL EX. , K&N FILTER AND A 14TO1 PISTON !(DONT FORGET THE REV BOX!) BUT I HAVE NO SHOCKS!

MY FRIEND HAS A YFZ AND HE HAS SPROKETS AND A REV BOX AND HES PRETTY CLOSE TO THAT WITH A 14.3@88!
