i bought a no name off ebay and it was great until i had my shock set up soft and hit a 25' jump and over shot about 5'and landed on the flat. the first time i have ever bottomed out on my stock shocks and it about cracked the whole back half of the box off.
other than that it has been great. It did cost $110 or something like that.

What are the benifits of an aluminum air box other than relocating the battery?

With the CFM box does everything go inside the box? with the UM box it looks like just the battery ges inside and everything else is still on the frame

yes everything goes inside the CFM airbox. I get a little more air inside and everything is protected. I have heard that UM mounts break, i havent had any structural problems with the CFM except ground problems. If you have any questions tell me.

I had a CFM Oil Tank on my raptor...it developed a small hairline crack in the weld...when I called CFM they asked me to send it back for a NEW ONE no questions asked...when I told them I had a local shop fix it...they sent me the money it cost to fix it...that to me is A+++ service!!!

I am planning on ordering the CFM box here in the next 2 weeks and my question is with everything inside the airbox, is it hard to get the filter out for cleaning? I ride where it is really dusty and have a K&N with no pre filter and it requires cleaning about once a week if we ride a lot. I want to relocate everything but dont want to have to remove it all every time I want to clean the filter.

actually yes it is a HUGE pain to get it out, my filter is all dented pinched because i couldnt get it out. I actually had to cut the filter about a inch shorter were it goes into the boot. My pre-filter is also all tore up because of it.

thanks for the input. I noticed how nice and neat everything looked in thier pics on thier new quads but wondered how it all worked out after it was time to clean the filter a few times.

Does it seem as if the pre filter helps make it go longer between cleanings or is it just the same either way?
