Do any of your guys have race cut front fenders and still trail ride? Was wondering if you get tons of mud, water, and rocks thrown up on to you?

I don't get anything thrown up on me but I don't do much mud riding. It really helps bieng able to see your tires on the trail though.

What did you use to cut your fenders?

Thats wierd. Any idea what he used to cut them? I am worried about getting a nice straight clean cut.

he used a utility knife. they didn't come out too bad. u can just use a sander to clean up the rough spots

I bet using a utility knife was tedious. My buddy may be able to take it to work and use a mill on it. That would be sweet.

I used to make fun of the race fenders...but damn they look cool.

Did you use anything to mark a straight line on the fenders?

I used a hacksaw blade. Just make sure before you do any cutting you mark off your lines with some tape. I like to use black electricians tape bacause its easy to move around to even up your lines before you cut.

Once I have made my cut I'll either use some sand paper to smooth out the edges or a propane torch. Just make sure not to apply the flame to your plastic. just get it close enought to get it soft and burn off the burs.

When I'm racing I'll every so often get a rock kicked up at me, but that's why I wear a chest guard and full mask helmet.

I used tape to mark the lines, then a air cut/off wheel to cut the fenders.

heres a pic, I didn't cut them all the way off, just wanted to be able to see wheels when ridin over big rutts

It has kinda of a YFZ cut to it.:D
