I was wondering if anybody owns or has ridden a 4stroke suzuki 250 cc king quad? we keep fouling plugs, and its chugging a lot, and throttle won't release, like its struggling to go forward, even after we let it warm up...but sometimes, after we give it some gas and go down our driveway and back, it seems to sound better. So we have replaced the plugs, but it doesnt seem to make a difference. Has anybody reduced or increased the gap in the spark plug for use when you drive slower and faster? I know that by adjusting them for slow driving, u can foul them really fast by driving faster, and vice versa the other way, but other than that, what else could it be? Could it be that we have to adjust the throttle? Or could the carb need cleaning? Help!

Yeah, that's what i suggested to my fiance couple hours ago, and he said yeah maybe, but he doesn't think it would be easy to remove the carb and clean it, he said we should bring it to the shop? Is it that hard to clean atv carbs? I helped him remove many carbs on dirtbikes and other 2 strokes and such, and it was sorta hard, but not worth paying someone 50-75 bucks or more to take it apart and clean it. What do you think?

it isnt that hard, i did it by myself, im only 13, but of coarse i had help from the great atvriders.com :D

get a clymer manual, take the carb apart, spray it with carb clean, use an air compresser and blow the cleaner off. if that doesnt work, post this in the powertrain section, and some smarter people should give you help.

I think the problem was we were driving too slow with it, and not giving it enough gas(more less I was driving too slow) my fiance has been riding it a lot more now and seems to be getting used to it and has no complaints. I drove it yesterday myself down to the creek and back and went down and back up a hill and through tall grass and it seems to be running fine? Who knows? Maybe it was just the dirt and dust-we cleaned it with the pressure washer and now it seems to be doin fine! Thank you everybody for your help!! :)
