ive seen some guys with 300ex shocks mounted on their 450s to lower them. it might be a better idea if that doesnt work to well.

i live way in the country, even though there r cops sometimes many people drive on the road or beside it.and this is just something i wanted to try out for a little bit,not something permanent.i'll probably bring it to the drag sometime.the guy that had it before me is around 100 pounds heavier than me,and without it lowered he did 9.30's in the 1/8 mile drag.

Take a closer look at what he wrote . He's running the 1/8th mile , not 1/4 mile . If a stock 450r can't run 9s in an 1/8th , put it back on the trailer or dump it off a bridge .

The bike looks good . Got any pics of it at the track ??

thanks for the replys.first off,it is not stock, second like Quad18star said it's 1/8.anyway,i have not been at a track yet, even though i would love to though.who knows i might soon.

You squished the pictures down to make it look lower!!

06-23-2006, 07:32 PM
looks like you shrunk the pics height wise and took out shocks :P

looks cool though, cant go trial riding with it :P will find those bumps quicker then ever

06-23-2006, 07:55 PM
how well does it handle on the pavement?

JKWGA400EX

i had to make them smaller but i think it looks about right.i would like to drag it but im going to california(Palm Springs),and comin back on thursday, maybe i'll go next weekend.

JKWGA400EX

it handles very well,i can go in 1st or 2nd mid speed, put the back brakes, turn all the way to one side, and it slide sideways around corners or to a stop without a sign of tipping over(on black top).overall its very solid,if i floor it it lifs off about an inch, but if i pop the clutch it would still is capable of doing wheelies.

thanks for the complements.hey what do yall think i could do in 1/8,im about 125pounds,i dont know how good of a rider i am,but lets say average.what do u think i could get in the 1/8.

wow thats gonna be ruff :) my 04 hrc 450r ran a 8.36 in the 1/8 and a 14.6 in the 1/4 bouncing off the rev at 79mph so im pretty sure its possible to run a 9 ;)

I'm looking carefully, and what I see is that I can beat it with my R without touching the suspension, let alone taking the shocks off :D

It does have some pretty wheels, though.

He did resize the pics a little bit out of proportion....but in reality it would be easy to sit that low. I would jsut be worried about the ball joints, they might be pretty stressed at that angle...

The resizing of the pics makes it look wider, and longer...which is untruthful...if that was his intent....Not sure why you would resize them that way otherwise

And why would it stress the balljoints?...they are in their normal range of travel

We have shocks made for dragging, there alot better than metal poles are w.e your running, you should look into some. I use to run some little steel tubing instead of our shaw shocks, until they snapped when I was halfway up a hill while hillshooting, neddless top say it cost a lot more in damage then just getting shocks in the first place. Here is an example of what we run on all our bikes..

Where did you get the struts or whatever you used up lower it? And did u use the same thing for the back?

nice..
how did you lower the back.?
are their any shocks that are small enough for a 250ex so it can be lower a bit.?
