WOW...What a FABULOUS Week of riding!!!

I have soooo much to say and soooo many pics to post-along with a little bit of video.

I rode in more places than ever before,I rode harder this year and climbed more dunes and bowls !!!Considering I havent rode in a much lately -I was surprised! It took me a full day to get back into it again,I formed some nice blisters and we all have REALLY sore rumps... LOL

We camped with 9 riders and met up with a rider from Montana,Mitch Crapo,Corry(AKA Millertime)met some riders from Sand Wizards.com for the Canon Camera Workshop and I had a great time shooting with some of the latest Lenses

I think the suckiest part of the trip was having to have all the riders split up in dif. camp sites.We never did get to meet up and rider with any of the riders from the Resort. If we want to do this next year, we should form a Convoy and all leave TOGETHER and Camp.

We endedup camping at the Desert Oasis .BLM filled up BEFORE the wk end this year..The dunes here have become a Hot spot so leaving earlier in the week next year will be in orderso that we can be assured a LArge campground

We had a NASTY wind storm on Monday,but WOW...the riding was prestige around 5pm.We rode literally from one end of the dunes to the other this trip Past Sand Hills Resort (not the side across from Sand Hills) it was so smooth and untouched looking.. The guys all Jumped at Tree Island and had abit of a roosting contest ..lol


Troy made Choke cherry up in 3rd gear,a few times in 2nd gear .. HAULERS ARE DA'BOMB!!! Mine made it all the way but one tire legnth from the top, Choke Cherry Hill was most Def. steepest we have ever seen it this year


Im just glad we had NO MAJOR WRECKS this year, one rider did get hit by a Sand rail but was OK...nothing but a much neede R&R trip. I cant wait until next year

I got my quad up the STEEP side of Crapo hill ....2nd gear but I still done it!!Iwas hoping to line it up with another EX, but he seemed to dodge me alot ... LMAO

I got to shoot some pics with an 8,000.00 Lense!!Yes I know... Im becoming a sick Camera junkie....lol

I hope more riders will join the Annual group ride next year.. It is well worth every mile for the drive ...

The trip started out at 10 am for a few hours of workshop held by Canon at BLM.

I was in AWE over all the Cameras and Lenses that was on display:eek2:

The guys were very helpful and showed me some new tricks to work on for the wk end .There is talk of next year having another workshop and having some Guest speakers .
Canon was kind enough to let us all get our hands on some of the displays and shoot some pics off the Lakeside and the main entrance to the Dune . MY choice was a 100-400 and a Wide Angle Lense.

I think I got Arm pump just trying to hold up some of the lenses.. Some of the are HEAVY!:o :p

Bullitt~~ WE ended up at Oasis instead of BLM, we had NO WHERE to even hang a sign cause the camp was full of trailers and tents . We was fortunate t ohave the Oasis to camp, but I surehop next year BLM has room for us cause we was not impressed with Oasis

I didnt relize this until last night that this was atvriders member quadrider .We finally got to meet up for some riding later on Sat. and I got some SAWEET shots of him riding... :bandit:

After the class,Sat afternoon I got to meet up with some of our locals who also came to play for Fathers Day wk end .Everyone was so spread out ,it was hard to group up for group rides. I got just a few pics near Crapo Hill.

We later ride over to what we call Tree Island..Its exactly that-Trees on a Sand Island woith some trails ..

This is a fun place to do some Tree shooting and jumping...

The Sand was a bit on the wet side this year since we had had a wet season.. Conditions were also windy at times,but feels nice when you have been riding all day.

My main reason for posting this topic each year is to bring Sand riding as close to those who have never been sand riding or live too far away to ever get to experience it.

my dune group is planning a summer dune trip for next summer... the wait from april to october with no dunes is too long... we are going to go to oregon, but i will try and talk everybody into shooting over to idaho on our way home

I'm headed there the 14th. I should have gone when you all were there. My quad riding partner's wife had their 4th child 3 weeks after her due date. Made a big conflict with our trip! She said if he goes to Idaho this year he might as well stay there! He's thinking about it...

Looks like I'm on my own this time. The wife may take one for the team and go with me though! Lucky I have the rail nearly done as most of the people I'm meeting there are rail people.

Hopefully next year we can meet up with you guys.
