Hey guy's
I'm home from Iraq and working on the 4 wheeler. (send pics later) My question is. I put a ModQuad Parking brake block off on and removed all the junk, but there is a micro switch in the old clutch lever. What does it do and can i just remove that too?

first off, let me say thank you sir, from myself and all of my family for the serving in the armed forces.

now, to your question. when changing the block off plate on my 450r and my 400ex, i used the stock lever and the only thing that i had to take off the bars was the parking brake cable

i am trying to figure out exactly what that is and where it came from...it does not look familiar to me

i just did the same thign as you and i was looking for an answer. what i found was you can splice the 2 wires togther and tie them out of the way. i am noto sure but i am going to try it out and see if it works, the reason for the wires is so that it can not start in gear. I will let you know what happens.

like he said 1st thank you and i just took my parking break off and put a block off kit on 2 days ago. it just makes it so your 400 wont start up in gear with the clutch pulled in. i took the plugs out and electrical taped them to the kill switch cable that goes across and down the stem. if u want to be able to start it up in gear with the clutch pulled in just tape the button in and tape the rest of it and the wires up. like to where the wires comes out for the button. ill get pics if u want

the switch lets the engien starter engage when the clutch is in.

you can wire the 2 wires together and it will work. But you will be able to start your quad with it in gear....so, don't be dumb.

Yes just splice the wires together and it will work. But like mentioned about it will start whenever regardless of the clutch position.

We just did this to my 400ex and my buddies 660 raptor.

Well it's done! Chose to just cut and tape the wires in. I'll send a couple pics.

the new 400's look good cuz they r styled after the 450r... i wish honda would have made a new idea instead of just using 450r styling... but now i can upgrade to these plastics.. maybe

You should be able to upgrade. The frame really has not changed.

The plastics are a direct swap except the headlights. You have to drill 2 holes to mount them but its not hard from what I hear.

Buddy rode his raptor for a couple rides without the wires together. If he stalled he would have to find nuetral. Not fun.

yeah it rained to much today for me to get the 400 to the garage without tearing the yard up and it poured to much to carry all my tools out to the back porche. im doing it tomarrow finding neutral does suck but its not that hard. its ticken me off though. i figured id try it that way

wouldn't you just be able to pull in the clutch in any gear like regular?

nope u have to twist the wires together . if you keep your parking brack /clutch perch u can do it nomal but the little black thing that is wired up if u unconect it it wont let the bike start in gear. it is electrical thing that is in all the time withthe stock clutch i dont know why its even there really. if u replace the perch u have to get rid of that peice so u un connect it fromt the black thinge and then cut the connector pieces off clean the rubber off the wires and then twist them together.

why are you getting rid of the boz then? for weight savings? cant you just leave it there? Whats so good about ditching the parking brake anyways?

At our local tracks you have to have it blocked off to race.
