when is it time for a rebuild

i think it is time for a rebuild the last rebuild was 3 and a half years ago and my 400ex is smoking a bit. this time i am going wit a 416 pistion 10.8:1 je and hotcam and port and polish.

You will like the improvement, with that kit you can almost keep up with the Honda 450R (or at least I could after the same rebuild). I recommend an aftermarket oil resevoir, it will help keep the machine cool by increasing oil capacity. That is one thing I did not do during my rebuild and wish I had- think of it as insurance for your upgraded components.
