theres quite a few u can get now. the most common is the fmf power bomb. you can also get pro circuit or a dmc afterburner head pipe

thats possible also but youd have to send hte slip-on back to hmf and it costs liek 250. the other ones i listed u cna jsut order and bolt them up but the hmf one will probably be the best

why would u need to send the slip on back? the white bros slip on works in conjunction with their header.

i believe it is a different length. a white bros slip-on should not fit the full system hmf header pipe

i only know if it would work for the 300 ex, but i'm sure it would work with the 400ex or any machine for that matter.

yea thats what i was thinkin u were talking about a 300ex. most systems for that all the headpipes are the same length. its a different story for the 400ex. the only known header pipes i know of htat will work with it are liek about the fmf powerbomb, pro circuit, i think muzzy, and the dmc afterburner. like for example the white brothers e-series full system is much different than the slip-on the two silencers are not interchangeable with that headpipe. for a 300ex the WB header will work with any slipon or stock pipe

oh! well< u could just call hmf to find out if it will work. i think that making the slip-ons and full system silencers different is stupid. why sould u have to buy a whole diff. system if u want to upgrade.

ur right it is stupid. i jsut got a full yoshimura system and the silencer and headpipe is different than the stock one. and i know for a fact the hmf on is different thats why hmf just doesnt sell headers seperatly except for a few machines i think like a grizzly or maybe a 300ex

A header is the thing thats inside the yellow circle in the pic below. Its an aftermarket one but any header on a 400ex is located i the same place. The purpose of headers is to help eliminate manifold back pressure taht causes resistance on the exhaust stroke because the back pressure can rob your engine of power.<div align="center">

It isn't stupid. On my HMF full system, the header (where it connects to the can) is damn near the size of the can. This offers much better flow (especially on a built motor) than a slip on that connects to the tiny stock header.

The reason that you have to send the silencer back in is to get the mid-pipe on the silencer changed.

PS: My mid pipe on my HMF full can goes over my stock header with much room to spare.

ya but the clamp on the white bros uses the exhaust gasket and the pipe is split so that it clamps down over the stock pipe bettr'. this works good and the mid pipe is very large so it won't restrict air flow with a large diameter headpipe. much better design.

you could buy a fmf powerbomb header i got that with a hmf slipon.
