I have the same piston and run a stg2. I'm happy with its performance.

The old stage two is a more agressive cam.^^^^^^

The new stage two kind of fits in between the stage one and the old stage two.

I contacted Hotcams for information on why they changed the grind on the Stage 2 and what the performance difference is. This was their response:

...As far as the difference between the old stage 2, and the new stage 2, the new stage two still has a good top end gain, but doesn't loose as much on the bottom...
I was hoping for a somewhat more technical and specific answer on how the changed lift/duration specs impacted engine performance. But, similar to what 400exstud said, my interpretation of that response is that the new stage 2 isn't geared toward peak HP as much as the old version.

If you ride wide open all of the time get the Stage 2. I put one in my 440 and it screams. I had to get a rev box though. I found I had enough top end with this cam I was hitting the rev limiter all the time in the lower gears. I run a 16T up front. 38T rear. If you are coming from a stock cam and you like the power where it is (low to mid) and you just want more of that, get the Stage 1. After I put my Stage 2 in, I felt like I was riding a 2 stroke (mid to top). It took some getting used to.
