I just bought a 14 tooth sprocket for my 300ex. I noticed that the sprocket has a flat side in the center and on the flip side it has a tapered side. Which side goes against the case?

Also, can I use my stock chain, I cant seem to get enough slack? Any ideas?

The tapered side goes against the case, and also you might have to get a chain breaker, or a new chain because of the bigger sprocket. Happy to help if I did any...............

I got it on and everything but there is absolutely no slack in the stock chain. Do I need a new chain?

I mean the chain is super tight with the 14 tooth on there.

You need to adjust the chain. The chain tension is adjusted via the rear bearing carrier/assembly.

How about some instructions. I have no idea how to do that.

loosen the 2 allen head bolts at the back of the swing arm. do not remove them
stick your allen wrench in the adjuster(the slotted thing on the carrier next to the rear sprocket) and rotate it towards the front of the bike.
