how dose this sound for parts for my rebuiuld for my 400ex 2000 model.

JE 10.8:1 416 pistion
Hotcam stage 2
port and polish

how did your bike preform after these mods compared to stock.

I like those choices. Should be a very nice improvement over stock for sure.

Sounds good. I would look into that 460 kit in the latest atvsport magazine. It said it cost about what it would cost rebuilding to stock specs. Can't beat that.

A 416 and 460 are two different animals built for different purposes. Keep your reliability and go with the 416.

I would recommend getting an 11:1 piston and also getting HD head studs and a stage 1 hotcam with a HD cam chain. Stage 2 is for top end. A good mild port/polish should finish it off nicely. Let us know what you decide.
