I dont think I have ever posted pics of my "old school" hybrid so here are a few.

This is one of the first hybrid machines that I remember people doing - 350x motor in a 250r chassis. They're pretty cool.

That's cool, I've seen a lot of the 350X motor in 250X frames and 300ex frames, but not much with the 250R.

Most of the pics that I have are too large tp post, but Ihave a few more.

It is possibly for sale - it honestly has about 10 hrs on it and I never ride it - so Im debating wether or not to sell it. I dont really want to sell it, but since I never ride it ........

If anyone is interested I can give a parts list and all

Thanks

Ken Cornwell from Rocky Ridge Racing did the frame - he used to race one back in the day. I think Jeff Stoess used to have some as well.
I dont know about Baldwin builing them - he may have.

Mxjunkie - you're right, pain to kick - major compression!!

I don't see the point. The R motor is waaayyy better... Why rip it out for that?

Back then they didnt have crfs etc. That was pretty much the crf,yzf and ktm hybrids of the early 90s.

They arent slow once you do some motor work thats for dam sure, the one my old boss has nearly puts a stomping on my banshee :o

Mxjunkie is right - thats why I put "old school" hybrid. These were some of the first hybrids built before the crf and yz motors were used.

Jason Luburgh used to race a TC /Laeger 350rx in the pro am class and did very well with it.

sweet man!...here's my 350rx hybrid. I love the thing and like everyone else said, what a pain in the ***** to kick!...

what exhaust are you running on yours? I'd liek to do something different with the exhaust on mine. http://i2.tinypic.com/sm4zkm.jpg

Mxjunkie - you're right, pain to kick - major compression!! Yep, I had several of those. They where the quad to race if you wanted to win on a 4-stroke at the time. I'd take one over a 250R any day!

Mine has a ton of compression, but starts on the first or second kick.
I'm running a stock headpipe with a TC Supertrapp shorty. I have an HMF that I may put on it - I dont know yet.
Jeff - did you ever work/talk with Ken at Rocky Ridge?

my bike starts good..just a pain in the ***** to kick over..usually choke on and second kick it starts right up.

what carbs are or were you running? I've been told that running a 400ex carb really wakes these things up. I also have a set of LT450R tires getting ready to go on it, i'm sure it will handle a 100 times better!

and here's a couple better pics of mine....

The stock carb works the best. When you go sticking on carbs that don't belong is when you get into starting and jetting issues.

Exactly, Im using the stock carb on mine.
