I just got my Houser/Elka frontend in the mail yesterday and I put it on. Everything went on no problem but then when I turn my bars all the way to the left or all the way to the right the rim hits the back of the lower a-arm. Have any of you with Houser a-arms have the same problem and what did you do to fix it. Could it be that the tierods are not set up right yet. Could there be too much tow out. Thanks.

It soudn like your tie Rods are set up wrong. ONe end is screwed in to far and the other not enough. That is what i am thinkin

were's jeff when ya need him????

My frame is slightly tweaked so one side of my front end does that and only when I got big tires on it..my MX tires are smaller and don't hit...I"m curious to see what we find out about this..

Here I am!:p Its kinda got me stumped too, what stem are you running?

I'm running a stock stem and +1 houser arms,,I figured on mine it was the tweaked frame OR the stem mount welded on the frame at the bottom is a little out of alignment.

does it turn both left and right the same amount? it loooks like your ite rods are adjusted more right... because on my quad i dont think my tire s will turn and that much of an angle

I have my quad up in the air right now because I am waiting on the rear shock. I haven't tried to fix the tierods yet because it is not on the ground. I just wanted to know if it was something that I installed wrong. Once I get the rear shock then I will mess around with the tierods and I will tell you the outcome.

And my stem is stock and the a-arms are plus one.

Get it on the ground when you get the shock and set your toe in then let us know what happens. My 250R does the same thing but I'm running 4+1 offset front wheels, it doesn't seem to hurt a thing. Turns nice and sharp!:)

My 400 did that with the big stock tires on it and stock a arms. But the front of my frame is tweeked pretty bad. I dont do it with the mx tires on it and thats all I run now so I really havent worried about it latley.

Doesn't the tie rod ends go in from the top and not the bottom??

The tie rods end go in from the top on the steering stem and go in from the bottom on the spindle. If you ran the ends on tops on both ends the tie rod would hit the upper a arm.

My 250r goes down through the hole on the stem and the spindles, nuts on bottom.

400EXRACER, you're right, I looked at exploded views of both and the 400 is like you say and 250r is like I said. He must be toed out to far.

The rear shock came in the mail today so I put it on and I took the quad off the stand. Then I was just about to adjust the tierods to stop the wheels from hitting the a-arm. But then I just turned the bars all the way and it didn't hit the a-arms anymore. It must have been since when the shocks were extended all the way when it was off the ground. Then I went ahead and fixed the toe-in and everything was fine from there on. The Elka suspension is so nice!! I never had aftermarket suspension before and I think I made the right choice. It was worth every penny!
