what size torque wrench do i need to buy for my 2005 400 ex?

get a 5/8 and a 3/8. they don't need to go past 100 ft lbs but i wouldn't get less than that

don't know 'bout the adaptor, sorry. the reason i say get both is because there are some very small boltts that need torqueing(did i spell that right?) if ur not worried about being too presise then just get the 5/8

5/8??????

just get a 3/8. stock bolts are questionable at best and can snap with the factory torque rating. about the only thing you need to torque is the head bolts. the rest, if you're somewhat experienced, you can tighten by feel. if you're skeert use a 1/4 ratchet on the smaller stuff.

my mistake. i meant the small and medium sized ones. i got confused:confused:

it is 3/8 and 1/4" drive. get a 1/4 drive with inch pound readings fro smaller bolts like the 6mm ones on the valve cover adn such. a 3/8 with ft/lb reading is better for larger bolts.
