I am currently looking to get a new pair of front shocks. I mainly just ride cross country and I am just wondering if anyone knows what would be a good type of suspension for around $5-$6 hundred. I've looked at many different companies like elka, works, tcs, fox, etc. and I really don't know what I should get.

go with ELKA because there are rated the number 1 suspension company in the world and ive never head anything bad about there shocks.

the only thing about elka that I'm kinda concerned about is that most of the people that have elka's say that they have been having to send them in to get re-valved

I think you have to do that with all shocks, to get them set up for your weight. Well you dont HAVE to do it.

You shouldnt have to send them to anyone right when you get new shocks. When you order them you give them a lot of information so they can set them up for you. Elka is known to be a little off on the setup when you get them compared to other companies. I would look at TCS. Lately I have been hearing great things about them.

Rated No. 1? According to who? You obviously dont read these forums if you have not heard anything bad about them.

Personaly I like elka, I actually have a set of elka's on my 440 which I bought like 3 years ago (when they still payed attention to their valving). You should consider TCS, that is what I have been running lately and they are great shocks.

right now I'm leaning toward the tcs's because I haven't read a single bad review on them and they also fit in my budget range, and I have heard really great stuff about there customer service.

Well I think that I am going to go with the tcs triple rates, but I don't know if I need the resivoir or not. I don't do any racing, but I am currently thinking about it, but for the most part the main terrain that I do ride on is cross country, so would it be fine just to get the ones without the rezzy's or do I really need them?

If you plan on racing in the future i would recomend the one with the rezzy's because the shock fluids get way hotter racing MX than riding cross country and thats what the rezzy's are for is mostly for fluid cooling, and plus your shocks will last longer with rezzy's even if you dont race.

Well, I finally decided on what shocks I'm going to go with. And the winner is Fox. I decided to go with the fox float air shox, I found a really great price for them which is $590 and I also have another company that says that they will beat this price, but they haven't told me how much yet. So It took a few good hours of research, and I finally found the best deals. Thanks everyone for all of the reply's and helpful info, if anyone has any experiance running the fox floats I would be glad to hear what you have to say about em. Thank you.

go to tcs's website which is: www.tcsracing.com, they have some pretty good prices on there.
