400ex ?

I have a ? about my 400ex and its a 2004 and I have a white bro e2 series pipe and a k&n airfilter and the main jet is jetted at 155 and is it alright if I ran the air box all the way off with no air box or no because I took off and I changed the jet to 155 and before it was 152 main jet so need some help plz and I havent checked the sparkplug yet

#1: periods would help

#2: no airbox or no lid? u could run it with no airbox, just don't ride near any water. u could ride wihtout the lid and achieve the same results and u could go near some water. as for jetting, check ur spark plug. if it's a light brown color then ur good. 155 main sounds around right but u'd have to play with it to find out. does it pop when u let off the throttle? too lean. does it hesitate when u give it throttle? too lean. if it bogs then it's too rich and if it stutters at high rpm then it's too rich. hope this helps

it is without no airbox just filter. Thx man, I will test it out this week. I will post it thx man again.

It beats calling the honda dealer and they say bring it in then, we will check it lol yea right I am not!

oh ya, stuttering at high rpm is withou any load on the engine. popping when letting off the throttle is with a load on the engine

umm when I first start it up it does, But it takes a long time to warm up without shuting it off and with out holding the throtle When I ride it doesnt do anything

sounds like ur jetting is good

ya thats normal. mine does that and my 300 does that and believe it or not my dad's honda motorcycle does it to. prolly just a honda thing

the sparkplug was a little rusty brown is that alright because it not black or white so is that good

now where is the best place to get the 416 kit because thats what i want to get soon and I cant find the 416 but I can find the 440kit.

I sometimes find it amazingly hard to believe that guys can find there way here to this website but they can't find parts!!!
