Hey guys, I'm doing my first ever Super-Moto race this weekend and I was hoping to get some opinions on tires.

I already race flat track so I have my KFX set up for that. Lowering kit, sway bar, and American racers.

Think I should just go out there with the American racers? They are hard compound. I also have really soft compound Hoosier rear tires. Plus I have an old set of H-tracks off a 200X I might try.

Just looking for some suggestions, thanks guys.

If anyone else is interested the race is this weekend, June 25th, Sunday in Cuddebackville NY. Practice is Friday night.

alright quick question, are all three of those tires mounted on rims?....and if so could you nto take them all with ya and try them each in a few practice laps?

MX tires works best , you want the bike to slide in the curves and if there is a dirt section , you want traction there.

Lowering kits are not good for super moto too , I use a MX setup but I lower de preload a bit.

Ex_Rider43 knows what he is talking about. i have raced 3 supermotos, i did the Primm, NV supermoto, and 2 here in California. I rode with MX tires, and thats what a lot of people did. you do lose a little bit on the pavement, but you gain it back in the dirt, while if you use flat track tires, you gain speed on pavemen, and lose it in the dirt. As for the lowering kit, i would take it off, if they do have table tops and some other kind of jumps, just take the preload out of your shocks and LEAN into the turns. you should have a good time no matter what though. Supermoto is AWESOME!!!!

This particular race is run on the Kart track, same day as the karts race. There's not going to be ANY dirt for this race, or any jumps. So I think I'm going to stick with my lowering kit and sway bar.

As for the tires Im still up in the air. I guess Ill try the hard compounds with like 8-10 psi firsyt and see how that goes.

No dirt or jumps? Sounds like more of a TT race

They're calling it a SuperMoto. They run Bike SuperMoto there and they do have dirt sections with jumps, but since we're racing with the Karts they arent using those sections.
