Yep, I too learned how important a- arm skid plates are, much the same way. I hit a fairly hefty stick in a trail and somehow it got up in there and wedged, snapping my tie rod. The front tire instantly flopped sideways, sending me off the trail at at least 30 mph. Both front tires hit 2 trees about 6" in diameter, sending me flying over the bars, luckily nothing to speak of in my path, so I just ended up with nasty bruises on both legs where they hit the bars when I launched. Took some Maguyver tricks to get the quad back out of the woods!
