Anybody have a good way to remove the excess glue from new decals?

Any solvent will do it. I usually use WD-40 or paint thinner.

Try Goo-Gone, I think Wal-Mart carries it.
It is an orangy smelling liquid, works great. I had a sticker I removed on my camper-top glass that left all the residue, it took it right off.

3M also makes some stuff that will do the job but it's expensive. Go with WD40... It works the best. Spray it on, let it sit for about 30 seconds.... than rub it with a towel and watch the stuff come right off.

forget where i heard it but iv heard that penut butter works. IDK if it really does but iv heard that it will take the residue riht off.

Try vegetable oil. You should have it in your kitchen. My grandpa was a chemist( he invented the special ink for screen printing) and he told me that it takes off the glue from stickers. It works well but takes a little rubbing.

mineral spirits. cheap and it works fast. You probably have some in your shed or garage.
