I have an 03' z. Me and my friends have a little track and I was thinking if I should Gusset the frame. It's starting to rattle a lot when I get into high rev's. Is that the frame or maybe the steering stem? just wondering.

well its probably something loose on your quad...maybe adjust your timing chain and valves. but i doubt it is your frame because if your frame was rattling that means its broken in someplace and you would definatly have noticed it. it may just be your steering...what kind of tires do you have on it and what suspension.

to adjust the valves your going to have to buy valve shims and take the top of the motor apart. its not a hard job you just need to take off the plastics and gas tank and everything. but is the sound coming from the motor? or can you physically feel it shaking

before you go taking everything apart, do you have an engine skid plate? if you do then it might be that rattling and making noise. happened to me and my buddies 450r, just line the skid with some foam or somthing.

Look for loose/cracked motor mounts and bolts. There may be shiny marks around bolts that have been moving.

its kinda hard to tell without hearing the bike or riding it. about where is the sound coming from? could be a number of things. let us know some more info so we can help you out. could be as simple as a loose bolt or as bad as valves need adjusted. but valves would be a tick wouldnt they?

ya the valves and cam chain would be a tick. not much you can do on adjusting the cam chain except replace it since the tensioner is automatic. when my cam chain was stretched it made a loud ticking nose at any rpm.
