I for one say that are not HALF the quad a 250R is!! For one, they are not near as reliable, I had two friends with an 86 and 88 and they were constantly breaking down. Another thing is they handle like a couch compared to an R which IMO still has the best handling out there. There are not near as many aftermarket parts for the LT for one simple reason, it is not up on the same level as a Honda 250R!!!

the link isnt working for me either... but i think that the 250r is hands down better... i think the quadracers are junk, as are the quadzillas and LTR 450s for that matter... i just think suzuki makes a crappy bike...

and im not "pure honda." ask beerock, ive been accused several times of liking yamaha too much :D

calm down TOM lol. i didnt say that they were better. i posted the link b/c thats the first time ive seen a 250r and quadracer in a video together and the quadracer held its own. go to streetfire.net click videos and type motocross in search and scroll down to the bottom left and you'll see it. its a old race from i guess late 80s early 90s

Actually the LT250R barely held it's own. Eventhough the powervalved LT's came from the factory with more horsepower they almost always lost to the 250R. The 250R revved faster and had much more pickup when coming out off a berm (the video proves that). The LT is notorious for it's horrible handling. An LT rider is able to keep up with the 250R's but he/she gets beat up doing it and they have to ride twice as hard just to keep the same pace. Downhill sections and and woops are the LT's biggest enemies. The 250R also jumps 20 times better than an LT250R.

Put the LT on a flat track and it will run away from most of the competition if it doesn't breakdown during the race:eek2:

Now a little love for the zuki's! I own a '96 RMX250 and all I can say is.... she's a beast!! The front forks were changed to '96 CR250's so it handles woops and jumps like a dream. Power is outrageous but predictable. I'm selling it so I can concentrate on my 3 wheeler and 4 wheeler projects

people always bash the LTs...i dont know why?? they are awsome quads! a buddy of mine picked up a 1800 dollar LT250r and it beat the raptor in a drag (i know you people are gonna say its only a raptor but this is when the raptor first came out)...I think the Lt handles pretty good, not the best but definatly not the worst...it handles better then everything on the market today (besdies 450s) and a decently built Lt is not far behind a 450...shows how far the sport has come in 20 years..

I rode an '86 Quadracer for about 8 years in the '90s and it never let me sit because of the quads quality. I smashed into a railroad tie and cracked the swingarm, letting me stuck 5 miles from home, but other than that, the damn quad was reliable as all hell. Honest. My 250r is a better quad tho... no doubt about that one. But my point is.... my ol' LT was fun, got the job done and was a good ol' quad back in the day.

Awesome video... IMO the main problem with the LT is, there is no rake on the front of the frame like the R. That is why it performs so poorly in whoop sections and bumpy terrain.
On coming obstacles make the front of the quad want to pop straight up.
That and no counter balancer make for cracked frames over time.
