View Full Version : ltr450 frame recall!!!!!!!

it seems as tho the half circle weld on the rear shock mount arent strong enough. i work at a dealer and we are shipping brand new bikes to our welder. he has to complete the weld all the way around. im not looking forward to the one or many that come back with a big crack that needs to be replaced

Yeah, and what about the powdercoating?

Doesn't matter, they fessed up to it, fixing the problem, and everyone can be thankfull for their honesty. Not that big of a problem anyway, if it cracks there and nowhere else, they'll be doing GREAT.

Maybe he is trying to brag about how honda hasn't had to do that. In my opinion Honda should do that I have pretty much thrashed one frame and the replacement frame already has 3 cracks on it. Mucho props to suzuki for doing that. It was an unsafe situation where suzuki's were breaking I've seen one do it and it completely broke off and also snapped the rear shock in half while it was at it.

Id rather reweld a cracked frame than replace bad bottom end bearings!LOL!!

why don't they go back to the square tube design?
too expensive for square tubing??

the frame on my 250r took everything thrown at it.
