I just put +2 asr a-arms on my 250x and installed the shock relocator bracket and can't fit the 450r shocks into it. Can anybody shed some light on this.

Any advice will help- Please no bashing --serious replies only!!!!

If I can't get this to work, I'll be willing to trade these shocks for some aftermarket 400ex shocks, or sell outright. They are almost new and from 2005.

The shock length is about 1/4 inch longer then what your arm and relocator bracket was designed to use.

I have about a half inch long on the top of the shock to the reloctor. I would have to almost compress the shock to get it to work. I take it ---it will not work:(

You can do like everyone else does and compress the shock, but IMO that will throw off how the shock is designed to work. (before anyone jumps in and states they have this set up and its the best thing since toilet paper...stfu...I know better)

You have a few other choices...

1) Install a 400ex length shock.

2) Send the 450r shocks to a builder and have them set them up for the length and weight etc.

The stock R shock is a decent shock, it will be up to your wallet on how much you want to spend to make them work with your set up.

What shock relocater are you using. I'm using the diamond J customs relocater on my 300ex. I run 450r front shocks on mine. i got them to bolt up just fine. Jack the quad up with a whatever, and bolt the shock up to the bottom, then at the same time hold the top bolt in your hand and push down on the a-arms and try to put the bolt in.

I'm not using the diamond customs, the other one on ebay. I have no idea how people are riding with 450r shocks on standard travel +2 a-arms for a 300ex! I commpresed the 450r shocks on for chits and giggles and I noticed immediatly that the front end was sitting very high and the shocks were extremly stiff on there softest setting. It wasn't even close to being a good set-up. I put my works stock length shocks back on and I'm much more satisfied with them for the time being. That just my personal opinion.

I Still have the 450r shocks for sale or trade. Looking to get around 200 bones for them or partial trade for 250r or 400ex shocks. Drop me a PM or e-mail me at dunny_mark@yahoo.com

People that are using the diamond J customs relocater love the 450r shocks on it. you don't have to compress the shock to get it to bolt up. I've adjusted ride height, compression and rebound, and i love em.
