I will be moving to Las Vegas next week so I will spend all of my time in the dunes now. I have gone to our huge dunes in wyoming and found that I get bogged down fairly easily because of low end power. My question is, wha should I do next to my machine to make it a dune monster??? Gearing ideas....port&polish....what would you do??

Go back down to your stock gearing. Don't forget to rejet.

But will putting the stock gearing in make me lose a lot of critical wheelspin? I had the stock gearin in at a local lake with some sand hills and it seemed like I was either in TOO low of a gear or TOO high, but the 14t made it good. I guess I can try them both out. And the R is out of th question. (Don't prefer 2 strokes)

what about the rear sprocket....Any Ideas?

I don't like to add teeth to the back cause you really need the ground clearence for crossin razorbacks. If you really felt the need adding a couple teeth on the rear will make it feel like a 13 1\2 front sproket.

for the sand, you GOTTA have a 2stroke. youll see how much more a 2 stroke out performs a 4 stroke at the dunes. Get a 250r or Banshee. Have Fun ! Safe trip to LV...Good Luck!:D

I have a 300ex, and I found taking away one in the front helped me ,but I lack power for climbing, and this helped a bit.I ride At St. Anthonys and there you need all you can get!!!I need to upgradebut it will be awhile.sorry, not much help on the rear sprocket, can someone tell me what the rear sprocket controls?

Changing rear sproket size is like changeing the front. Being there are a LOT more teeth on the rear you can fine tune your gearing much more. Except with the rear you subtract teeth to raise and add teeth to lower gearing. If droping the front sproket is too much then get a rear sproket with 2 or 3 less teeth then stock. That will raise your gearing more.
