Wheel spacers = more bumpsteer and stress on your front end.

I don't think that there is a cheep way to get kick start.

You can't get a kick start. It would be a waste of money to even try.

It is possible to do it on the 400ex by replacing the bottom half of the motor with a xr400 (I THINK).

Now that I think about it I don't think that there is a dirt bike version of the 250ex motor so you're probably out of luck.

Like I said, impossible. The 250EX is the same motor as the Recon. Garbage.

Now here's what you could do: Change the motor to a CRF250R motor. That's what Honda should have done a long time ago. It will have your kickstart, plus it will be a lot faster. But you have to worry about changing the swingarm and modifying it to fit, because the 250EX uses a drive shaft instead of a chain.

If you plan on doing any hard core riding, do not get wheel spacers. This topic has been beat to death.

Please do a search and you will find a lot of info: Wheel spacers or bump steer

wheel spacers up front are all right, but out back they will bend your hubs.
