View Full Version : help, adding transmission oil

hey, i got a rossier full exhaust on my 450r and i cant get at my transmission oil filler cap, how am i sopposed to put oil in there, i tried taking off my head pipe but the nuts are rusted to the bolts. any ideas? thanks

Or if your lazy take some construction paper.. Roll it up and pour oil threw it.. LOL

Try filling it through here, that how I do it.

I had the same problem so I just got a short piece of tubing and stuck it on the tip of the bottle.

this is the oil i use. with the way the bottle is made, filling the transmission is a breeze!!

It is still hard to get it in the tranny because the header sticks out too far, thats why a piece of tubing works wonders when you put it on the end of that bottle.

ARE MOST PEOPLE RUNNING TRANS OIL IN THE TRANS OR ARE THEY RUNNING MOTOR OIL??? I WAS RUNNING THE HONDA TRANS OIL IN MINE, BUT I JUST GOT A SERVICE MANUAL FOR IT AND THEY HAVE SPECS TO RUN REGULAR MOTOR OIL IN IT?!?!?!?

my honda shop recommended the honda trans oil.

I run reg 10-40 Amsoil in mine =)

Another trick I use. Instead of using the weep hole to check the fluid level, I stop when the fluid get to the bottom of the black flange on the crank bolt. You can see it in the pic. Alot less messy. All you need is a flash light to check the level.
