I have an 88 250r bored to a 265 and mild porting no airbox lid and a DG pipe and a Bill's pipe silencer. Everything else is stock. I was wondering what bolt on's like carb or reeds or maybe a pipe I could do to get the most power out of my 265r without boring it or having more port work done.

yah, i would probably get a boyeson rad valve, 36 or 38 A/S carb... and yah, i would get a different pipe...

Definitely get a different pipe. What type of riding? You might want to change the gearing to accomodate your type of riding.

How's your jetting? Are you running it pig rich?

the old style DG's arent bad, they grunt good but taper off really bad on top end, i know a 295 kit with a dg, a k&n, the stock carb, and some mad scientist port work that would have no problem whatsoever uprooting a full sized tree.

I ride fast pastures with rolling hills. I stay in 4th gear and above mostly. I run a 14/38 setup. I have the old style DG and it pulls good. I like it because it stays in the frame. If I ride I always ride fast trails or pastures. Not much for the big air time. I got a CRF for that. My mixture is just a tad rich. It is fast don't get me wrong but I want just want to know that I have all the go fast and power boltons engine wise. The gearing is fine. I like the way it works over the 13 tooth setup.

I would consider a 38 mm air striker carb. I have one and really like it. I didn't notice any loss in low end compaired to the stock carb. I got mine from esr since you get a free jet board.
For reeds I would get the boyeseen rad valve.
for a pipe I would get a paul turner race pipe. That was the best pipe I ever used. Untill I got my curtis sparks tt pipe:D

If youre going to get a carb get a 39mm pwk

Get a sparks pipe off of ebay

Get a decent set of reeds, Vforce Boyesen etc

Get your gearing perfected for your riding style after the mods are on

as mentioned i would get a larger carb (35 a/s, 36 pj, 38 pj or 38 a/s) and a RAD valve setup. see how that runs with the current pipe that you have now. if ya dont like the way it pulls then ya can later get another pipe like an esr or say a fmf fatty.
