does adjusting stock shocks help any with landings, making them softer?

most deffinatly. are you bottoming out or not using enough stroke? regardless i would stiffen up the rebound.

ive been wanting to ask this question for a long time now........

but, how do you go about adjusting your shocks, the stiffness or rebound...

i would like to do this to my stocks to help me out a bit on landings, but i cant figure how to do so.

If they feel to stiff turn the rebound a 1/2 turn on each shock and ride it.Do it until you like the way they feel..Maybe even 1 full turn at a time.Thats what i did with my +2+1 arms and now there much better!I rebuild is better but some adjusting will help! They are way to stiff on the 06 anyway. The arms softened mine up a lot!!!And some riding time will break them in!!!

I would not rely on the manual. they kind of have the rebound backwards.

the compression is turn tord H makes them stiffer turn them to S makes them softer.

The rebound H makes them rebound slower and S makes them rebound faster! the r's rebound is way to fast for XC. but it also will make the compression change a little bit!

mine are set for woods and XC and the rear is compression full S and rebound full H. but that is up to you!

you can also adjust preload

im gessing you want them sefter because you are not bottoming out, or using all the stroke. to salve this turn the comression screw to the soft. i wold deff turn the rebound up buy turning it twards the H. if the ride needs to be foftened out because your bottoming out and making landings harsh, turn the compresson twards the H. you shold be bottoming out once or twice a lap, that way you are using the most your shock can give you.
