Can TRX300EX top end be put on a TRX300FW

I have a low hour TRX300FW that I was thinking about doing some work on and wondered if a 300EX top end would work and still use the stock exhaust or a aftermarket system for teh TRX300FW?

i saw it done in a dirtwheels a couple months back. the guy had it lifted up for mud bogging with custom axles and the ex top end. it looked pretty badass.
