I was driving down I-75 here in michigan a couple weeks ago and they were painting the concrete that holds up the over passes on the expressway and the retards didn't tarp off the area, and they had this huge sprayer. So now the front of my truck has white paint spots all over it. I tryed using wax and the buffer to try and get it off, but that didn't work. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas how to get it off and not harm the paint. If i sit there and scratch if off with my finger nail, that works. But that would take me days to get it all off. I know I should call MDOT (michigan department of transportation) and file a formal complaint, but I know that won't get me anywhere. And if they would do something, I wouldn't like the work that someone else did on my truck and I would end up fixing their work. If anyone has any ideas, that would be appreciated, thanks.

use a little bit of reducer on a rag. just make sure to wipe it off quick. wont hurt the clearcoat at all. learned that trick at the body shop i worked at when i was repainting my rockers and got some overspay on the body. :p

Try WD-40, I've used it before to take paint off of stuff.

reducer is mixed into paint before spraying. you can find it at NAPA, advance, A&A, etc...etc...

You can always be brave and try to wet sand it .... although I wouldn't recommend it if you're not 110% sure of what you are doing .

You might could try VMR, Vandal Mark Remover. We use it at work, but I have never seen it on the shelves anywhere.:(

Carb cleaner and a rag, reducer will eat the clear coat.

Your best bet would be to lightly wet sand the paint with 1500, or 2000 grit, then buff it.

You should buy a meguiars medium clay bar. It's similiar to wet sanding, yet not as abrasive. Works pretty good with somw elbow grease.

I would not wet sand it, you will have swirls forever if you dont know what your doing. I would go get a clay bar and clay bar your truck, then run a polisher on it, or take it to a deltailer. It wouldnt be that much, it was 200 to clay bar and polish my 350 4 door long bed.

get a Clay bar, they are like 16 bucks at autozone, gonna have to use some elbo grease but it will come off. It took bed liner overspray off of my truck.

take them to court for a new paint job! Can you sew for something like that, or would the state be able to get around it?

when i use to work a the garage we would get people all the time for line paint on their cars. DOT will pay for it to get fixed.

We used thinner - reducer on the paint, replaced the inner fender wells. then buff the paint back to a shine.

watch out some thinner - reducer can be real hard on paint.

Just go to a local parts-paint store and ask the paint person what to use.

I have used brake clean or carb cleaner before but some paint dont like it.
