so, yall know that i have been having problems burning up starters. i have had 3 starters and 3 starter relays, and all new wires to carry the current from the battery to the relay, etc etc. well, i throw it into reverse today and the overheat light comes on. the overheat light is now the reverse light and vice versa! wtf?!? it did work correctly... also im killing batteries. i just did #2 and i cannot kepp them charged. okay... so im shorteng out somewhere. but the swapping of the lights?

Either you swapped the lights out on accident when pulling the dashboard apart or you've got some wires crossed and cut somehwere down the line. My overwhelming suspicion is the first.

that would be a trick since the dash has not been messed with since it worked correctly, and none of the wiring excluding the high current wires i replaced for the starter, have been toughed... so no, thats not the problem. physical inspection of the wiring shows no frays, rub marks, nothing.

Lol. You're right, this is pretty interesting. You sparked my curiostiy. :p

So you haven't touched any wiring/electrical components besides the starter/relay assemblies and the batteries?

I've been through 2 relays but never had any problems with my dash lights.. I might, I just never look at them. :p

Good luck bro.

i do have aftermarket lighting soldered in and the kill switch as well, im probably gonna rip the wiring harness out and take it apart, shoot the wires, and really get into depth from there. this is much easier than working on aircraft wiring so it shouldnt take too long i hope!
