Boysen rad valve

I bought a used boysen rad valve its in good condition but it dousent look like the reeds seal all the way like the stock one. Is this normal for the rad valve or do i need new reeds.

they should seal . take them off , wipe them down and put them back , the same way up as they came off , if they still sit bad replace the reeds , think their $60

sometimes flipping them works good

you cant flip these , ther coated on one side . others can work well flipped though
